About

This is the place on the inter­webs where I com­bine what are per­haps my two favorite things: cook­ing and pho­tog­ra­phy (my wife is a close fourth, edged out just slightly by beer). I learned to cook as a kid, watch­ing and help­ing my mom some, then exper­i­ment­ing on my own. Once I grew out of want­ing to be a cow­boy or an wildlife explorer, I decided I wanted to be a chef. But, like all things mean­ing­ful, I put it aside for some rea­son. I tried being a rock star instead, though I quickly real­ized that would go nowhere finan­cially speak­ing. In the end, I landed in the world of design and pho­tog­ra­phy. The delight I took in kitchen exper­i­men­ta­tion never waned, nor did my ten­dency to make plates as pretty as pos­si­ble. I recently devel­oped a fas­ci­na­tion for fight­ing off a hun­gry wife and tak­ing pic­tures of most of the food we make. These pho­tos would make their way onto the inter­net, where friends would make encour­ag­ing state­ments of jeal­ousy and drool; thus, I Ate That! was born.
